What is the history of the Kickers brand?

Kickers brand is a footwear company that was created in France in 1970. Its headquarters is in Cholet, France. It is founded by Daniel Raufast and Jacques Chevallereau (The designer). In 2007, Kickers was bought by the Group Royer.

Daniel Raufast was motivated to create what he believed to be the best footwear for the blue-jean generation when he saw a poster for HAIR (American Musical Comedy). The barefooted youngsters pushed Daniel Raufast and Jacques Chevallereau to design and create their first Jean boot.

The shoes were first introduced in the market in the spring of 1970 and called KICKERS (from KICK and KER) to add the American touch and the underscore “S” to bring similarity with “jeans.” After success in France, Kickers began a worldwide campaign to take over the market with casual, comfortable shoes for all.

By the end of the 5th year in the industry, Kickers had opened a store in one of the fashionable London districts, Kings Road launching their star, Kick Hi. The shoe model was endorsed by many famous musicians like Elton John, David Bowie, and Roger Daltrey. Kickers models continued to be intertwined with the music industry, from the 70s and the 80s acid house raves to 90s Britpop and beyond.

Within a single season, production grew 4 times more from 300, and by 1974, they were available in over 70 countries. Kickers were famous in Britain during the 80s.

What kind of shoes do Kickers offer?

After coming up with the lustrous legacy, Kickers are always on the move to create and safeguard the future by creating amazing and sustainable shoes while maintaining the 70s spirit high. Kickers are always striving to get and use sustainable materials. All kickers shoes are made using recycled pulp to avoid wasting precious materials.
