Warm, easy to step into.

I already had a pair of these in grey and found them really comfortable. Just wanted a pair in bright red to ring the changes and to allow each pair of slippers to fully rest and recuperate between wearings. I knew from other reviews to buy a larger size than I'd normally wear. I tend to be a 7.5 UK in most makes, a 7 in some Spanish makes and an 8 in others. So an 8 needed in my case. My feet aren't narrow, more a D to E. I also like a wee bit of support rather than a totally flat slipper. Also nice to have a sole that will allow a quick trip into the garden to put something in the bin. An 8 UK without socks is a bit generous but the toggle can be used to tighten the opening and keep the slippers from falling off. I like the fact that the slippers cover the top of the foot and ankle well - makes them much more cosy. I could remove the existing insole and buy something a wee bit thicker to put in if I wanted a really snug, sockless fit but that's a minor issue. A thinnish pair of merino socks and the fit is better while still allowing room for toes to wiggle. They are warm but breathable - no sweaty feet. The thick sole and merino insole provide good support and insulation. On a dry day, due to the excellent sole, these are smart enough to be worn as a casual shoe as they don't look like slippers! I don't think they'd be overly warm in summer as they are made of a breathable natural fibre. I love them!
