 Who designed the Adidas Ozweego?

Adidas introduced the first original Ozweego to the world market in 1996. Since then, there have been many iterations being released. Its main intention was to have lightweight running shoes in competition or during training with adiPrene cushioning technology. The shoe style kept getting better and updated over time, but the same technology remained.

The Ozweego 2 arrived in the market between 1997 and 1998, with the same cushioning technology but a slight upper update. The progress continued to Ozweego 3, which had an additional update of torsion in the midsole. Between 1999 and 2000, Adidas introduced what is known to be the best of all previous models: Ozweego 4.

15 years later (2013), after the introduction of the first Ozweego, Raf Simons, one of the successful designers, re-imagined the new Ozweego with his design vision. Raf Simons used Ozweego and popularised the chunky trainers being used by countless brands now. The Raf Simons’ Ozweego was the trend of voluminous trainers, overlapping layers, bulky shoes, and oversized midsole.

What are the main reasons to choose Adidas Ozweego?

Raf Simons brought life to Ozweego 1 back in 2013 to quench the thirst of chunky trainer-hungry sneakerheads. It is fair to conclude that they were among the best and most popular trainers ever made.

Adidas is now working without Simons’ help to bring the 2013 Ozweego experience back. It is true to say that Ozweegos are the best shoes to purchase for style and comfort because:

  • Ozweego is packed with technology. New Ozweego combines two technologies: adiPRENE and adiPRENE+. AdiPRENE is for heels (impact absorption), while adiPRENE+ is for forefoot (offering sufficient energy return), creating a perfect stride.
  • Ozweego is made of classic mesh upper and adiPRENE midsole making it breathable and light.
  • Ozweegos are unisex shoes for anyone to style out. They look good on women, and men wear them for comfort and style.
  • The price is worth your while since you get what you paid for. The adiPRENE cushioning makes them comfortable.
  • Ozweego is inspired by a chunky-trail outsole and retains the original Ozweego’s traction pattern, ideal option for hiking regardless of the landscape.

What colors are available for Ozweego trainers?

Ozweego has gone through several generations since its first introduction in 1996 as a lightweight runner. From Torsion midsole to adiPRENE cushioning, the Ozweego has experienced a lot. To honour the enduring appeal of Ozweego silhouette, here is a list of available colours you can get in the market.

What style to wear with Ozweego trainers?

The best thing about Adidas Ozweegos is that you can pair them with literally anything from skirts and joggers to plaid blazers and jean jackets.

  • Crew neck, a corduroy jumper, and neutral socks with Ozweego Beige
  • Textured mustered sweeter and white plaid skirt Ozweego
  • Joggers, off the shoulder bodysuit, and a plaid blazer with Ozweego Pure White
  • White tee and blue denim jeans with Ozweego White/Beige
  • Black t-shirt and khaki pants with chain accessories and Ozweego Black

How do I know if my Adidas Ozweego are original?

Having a pair of Ozweego sneakers might help make your fashion statement. However, some people may find the brand pricey and hence unaffordable. Therefore, a low-cost Adidas Ozweego is the only option.

On the other hand, you may unknowingly buy a fake Ozweego thinking it is the original and end up wasting your money. You should start with the size tag as the main factor of authenticity:

  • The text in the size tag looks thin in the fake Ozweego than the thicker text in the authentic trainers
  • Original Ozweego have their text in the same font-weight unlike fake ones
  • The text in the original shoes are evenly positioned
  • The real Ozweego shoes have thin and curvy laces, all in a tubular shape while fake one have thick and wide laces
  • Fake Ozweego have over-inflated toe box while original Ozweego is thinner and deflated compared to fake shoes
